Tibetan photoshoot at Lijiang for $200!

What’s a trip to Yunnan without dressing up Tibetan style? This is in my view one of the best ways to immerse in the culture, and enjoy what nature has to offer at the same time. Surrounded by mountains and the vast greenland, we had the opportunity to ride a horse and carry sheep for the first time! I would 100% recommend you to experience this if you are in Yunnan. I was really impressed by their make up skills. I actually liked it way more than my wedding and PWS makeup☺️

Tips:

1. There are many studios in the ancient town with 2 options, decide which one you want.

a. Photoshoot in the town itself, which costs ~ $50 per pax.

b. Photoshoot in nature with the mountains, sheep, horses. The cost can range from $200 to $500 depending on which shop and package you go for. We went for this option as I really like nature and it just feels more majestic with the mountains behind. Note that carrying sheep and riding horse requires additional top up but as it was off peak season (clearly the mountain behind was of low visibility), we did these activities for free and even got a discount for the package price😙

2. Please read XHS for reviews as there are some shops which are known to 坑 customers, requesting you to top up for additional services.

2. Find a shop that has the style of costume and makeup you want. This may vary greatly.

3. Make sure the shop has many reviews. Some shops actually steal the images of another shop to post as their own!!!

4. WeChat the shop to make a reservation. I did not manage to pay a visit to the shop as it was in a different town from where I was staying. I found this shop through XHS and found the price reasonable. Also, their deposit was only $6. (My hotel recommended another shop to us which cost ~$400. So do your own hw and don’t trust the hotel’s recommendations blindly).
