RENO DIARIES: Week 3 & 4 🔨 (HDB Resale)

Hello! Our reno week 3 & 4 consists of the following done:

☁️ Tiling & Glass works for both Toilets

☁️ Tiling and Skirting for Kitchen floor (have not seen yet as there is floor protection laid :x)

☁️ Regrouting of the existing floor tiles at Living and Bedrooms :D (we initially wanted to do a vinyl overlay but we didn’t like how vinyl always feels tacky on our feet.. so we decided to retain the original floor tiles, which helped us save some costs~)

🌱NEXT STEP 1: CARPENTRY!!

We also had our first discussion with the carpenter, who informed us that the available kitchen space after hacking was smaller than expected 🥲 there were some adjustments to the drawer width and upper cabinets, hope it turns out ok :x We also had our induction hob and hood delivered to site for the carpenter to take his measurements~

🚽 NEXT STEP 2: TOILETS

We have most of our taobao sanitaryware and accessories on site, pending our 10.10 sale-bought WCs to be delivered 😛 once we have that then all the sanitaryware can be installed yayyy ✨ we also did not expect the glass works to be up so soon, and we didn’t like how the u-channel turned out 🥲 we should have informed our main con to do the channel recessed so that the glass will look ✨frameless✨

🔌 NEXT STEP 3: ELECT WORKS

Next week our main con said that they will start on painting works, and the installation of electrical items (ie. light fittings ✨, socket faceplates 🔌 etc)

🚪MISC: DOORS

Meanwhile on our end, we are planning to replace all the doors in our unit (ie. 2 bedroom doors + 3 toilet/kitchen bifold doors + 1 main gate + 1 fire rated main door) because of its poor condition (eg. many scratches, rusty door handles and hinges) 🥲 So we are confirming with our door supplier to have them come down and take measurements for fabrication~
