Tight calves are common not only in runners, but also in people who walk frequently throughout the day.

Luckily there’s many ways to help improve tight calves, and one of the best ways is by stretching.

I have super tight calves so I try to do these stretches once a day, especially after a workout or about an hour before running

For the first stretch you have two options to start the stretch off:

You can either start standing with your feet shoulder width apart and walk your hands out until your hips are in the air with your back straight.

Your other option is to start lying flat on your stomach, pressing your hands into the ground, and raising your hips up until your heels are flat on the ground.

Focusing on keeping your heels flat and your weight pushed into your hips is the key to really feel this stretch!

For the second one you’ll just need a wall or a ledge to press your toe onto.

The higher you can raise your toe, the better the stretch will be

You can also try to lean forward to intensify the stretch!
