as an ignorant kid, i used to think “HOW IS ANYONE EVEN FAT??”
then during covid, i became borderline overweight 💀 food was a coping mechanism. staying active was a struggle (mentally + physically). that was humbling for me and i thank God everyday for teaching me the importance of empathy 🕊️
so when i say i understand the struggle, i truly do!
in my journey of successfully shedding >10kg, these 7 concepts helped the most:
1. 🧠 WEIGHT LOSS IS MOSTLY PSYCHOLOGICAL
food CANNOT be your main source of joy. replace with new hobbies!
2. 🍵 COFFEE/TEA/TAKING NAPS
this is the best way to suppress your (unnecessary) hunger
3. 🚶♀️ WALK
20 min to get there? walk or cycle.
walk in shopping malls. don’t sit for hours eating
4. ❤️ LOVE YOURSELF + UNLEARN TRAUMA
no, you don’t have to finish the plate or other people’s food! you’re not a rubbish chute
3 meals a day is just a suggestion, not LAW
and no proper, sustainable change ever stemmed from a place of hatred. you are doing it because you love you enough and you know you deserve to wake up in a body that YOU feel great in! :)
5. ☀️ FIND FUN IN MOVEMENT
exercise doesn’t have to be depressing. ask your girlfriends out on a gym/dance/badminton date! i always feel lighter and get to laugh so much~
6. 😇 TAKE GUMMY VITAMINS/FRUITS
my secret life hack for replacing sweets. it works 😁 i get mine from iHerb
7. 🍚 LEARN TO LIKE BLANDNESS
by that, i mean reset your dopamine receptors.
sometimes we get too used to being spoiled by flavour that we keep wanting more and more.
that’s how addiction starts, so be mindful 🥰 (applies to screen time, smoking one stick becomes two etc)

i was always grateful for the body i have, even at 65kg. all 4 limbs and decent health, i am so lucky. however, i believed i could be healthier and i did it!
it is never too dire to start changing now *if* you want to. i hope this will reach the princesses who need this little reminder! x
