Wedding, Flat, Renovation—All Done in One Year!

We bought our flat in January, renovations ended in early March and had our wedding in late March. All of these were completed in 2024 and here are some tips for you!

1️⃣ Plan early ⏰

Right after our solemnisation in 2022, we sat down and discussed on the timeline. We followed the timeline closely and completed the planning for wedding by Aug 23. From Aug 23 onwards, we focused on getting the paper work for the flat and looking for contractors. Our flat and renovation discussions were done by Jan 24 and that's when we bring our focus back to the wedding.

2️⃣ Budget wisely 💰

We were both fresh grads who had just started working and our budget was tight. We both agreed on working within our budget and controlled ourselves from overspending.

📝Side note: you don't need an expensive wedding menu/ famous wedding band or emcees/photobooth etcetc.. Your guests are there to share your joy, not to judge the extravagance of the event. You should focus on meaningful moments, not on spending beyond your means!! BUTTT if your guests are people of a certain "level".... you mightttt need these extra boost to zeng your wedding 😉

Ps, all the wedding photobooth printouts we have collated are still kept in our drawers and never taken out since their weddings 😅 - so yall decide if it is necessary haha

3️⃣ Share the responsibilities 👩‍❤️‍👨

Wedding planning, house sourcing and renovations are very stressful. It is normal for the female to be putting in more effort in the planning. So to the fiancé/husband, please support your partner 💪🏻 - even if you don't really know what she is talking about, at least try to show that you are interested 😂

I love to research and plan but I can get indecisive and I need assurance. And this is where he comes in to support ❤️
