first ever post on lemon8 to document my recent korea trip ! (っ◔◡◔)っ ♥

this post will include a generic outline of my itinerary (based on location) and those recommended will be marked with a 👑 ! for detailed day to day itinerary and how i travelled between locations, keep a lookout for my subsequent posts ! ♥

🌷SEOUL🌷

𝕀𝕥𝕒𝕖𝕨𝕠𝕟 👑

there's a reason why it's touristy and there's always insane crowds, cause the drinks and night life is really lit in itaewon! think about clarke quay but x1000 better music and alcohol is >50% cheaper ! you can easily find cocktails at 10,000KRW and it's generally stronger than the ones you can find in sg

𝕂𝕪𝕠𝕔𝕙𝕠𝕟 𝔽𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕕 ℂ𝕙𝕚𝕔𝕜𝕖𝕟

In my previous trip, this was godly and i've been dreaming about it for daysssss but i think their standards dropped a little or i may have put it on a pedestal? but will recco this place for a quick fried chicken fix

𝔹𝕒𝕖𝕜𝕛𝕖 𝔹𝕦𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕪 👑

Highly highly highly recommend this place for BEEF lovers! they have grilled beef cuts and yukhoe (raw beef) even tzuyang went there for her mukbang so you know it's darn good! when i travel, i try not to go back to the same place twice during the same trip but this place!!! this place made my partner and I plan another trip down the day before we flew off as we wanted to end the trip with a bang; but unfortunately it's closed on sundays...

𝕀𝕟𝕤𝕒𝕕𝕠𝕟𝕘

the main street is kinda meh and i would have given it a pass if not for the many great cafes hidden in the small alleyways, so really take your time to venture into the ulu walkways that don't remotely look like walkways

ℍ𝕠𝕟𝕘𝕕𝕒𝕖 👑

who goes to hongdae and not drop by gentle monster and tamburins? even if you have nothing to buy, i think the shop is generally a great experience, for the vibes yarh. and can you really say you've been to korea without going to hongdae? the multiple buskers and clothing/accessories stores are enough to keep you occupied for the whole day! there are tons of cafe along the stretch of road where Solsot is located, one tummy is defo not enough!!

ℂ𝕆𝔼𝕏 𝔸𝕢𝕦𝕒𝕣𝕚𝕦𝕞 👑

I know you must be thinking what's so great about an aquarium but i really recommend to drop by if you are in the area; the exhibits are really engaging and you can even experience free cuticle cleaning by the fishes! plus points where you can just pop by the starfield library to take a quick picture for the gram

🌷GANGNEUNG🌷

𝕁𝕦𝕞𝕦𝕟𝕛𝕚𝕟 𝔽𝕚𝕤𝕙 𝕄𝕒𝕣𝕜𝕖𝕥

it's like noryangjin fish market, so it's an either or location for me. if you only have to choose one, i'd say the crabs are fresher here and it's cheaper but there's more seafood/vendor options in noryangjin

𝔹𝕋𝕊 𝔹𝕦𝕤 𝕊𝕥𝕠𝕡 / 𝔾𝕠𝕓𝕝𝕚𝕟 𝔹𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕜𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕣 👑

if you're an ARMY or a Kdrama fan, i'd recommend going over for some photo-taking! there's also a lot of photo spots near the BTS bus stop, so it's not a 'travel there just for one bus stop' situation! for the goblin breakwater, there's also a few cafes nearby, so you can chill in the cafe while enjoying the sea view after taking some photos!

𝔾𝕒𝕞𝕔𝕙𝕖𝕠𝕟 ℂ𝕦𝕝𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕒𝕝 𝕍𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕒𝕘𝕖 👑

If this is your first trip, i'll highly recommend going because it's really pretty and you're already there, so might as well! but i'll not recommend getting any food or snacks in the village itself as it is tourist-priced and it is not as nice as what you can get outside the village

𝕊𝕠𝕟𝕘𝕕𝕠 𝔹𝕒𝕪

Do not recommend at all unless you have a lot of time to spare! cable car experience was great however the trail that we wanted to take along the coastal region was broken and out of service. the suspension bridge was also not available due to issues they were facing, not too sure due to communication barrier.. Not sure whether this is my bad timing, do let me know in the comments if i was just unlucky..

𝕐𝕖𝕠𝕟𝕘𝕕𝕠 ℍ𝕒𝕖𝕟𝕪𝕠 𝕍𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕒𝕘𝕖 👑

A little out of the way but will definitely recommend! you can take a leisurely stroll from the bus stop to the restaurant and along the way you'll find a mini lighthouse which makes for a great photospot! once there, you'll be indulging in a seafood feast with your loved ones while watching the sunset (if you time it right)! it's really a memorable experience and i dare say it is the highlight of my trip!
