DAY 3 🇰🇷 | HONGDAE

hey zesties! 🍋 back with my detailed day 3 itinerary for korea! ᡣ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶𐭩 ♡

we started the day early by heading to the Nike store in Hongdae right when they open for customised apparels! there are two nike outlets for this, one in Myeongdong and one in Hongdae but online reviews state that the you have to queue even before the opening time for the Myeongdong outlet. so we decided to just head straight to the Hongdae outlet and lucky for us, there was a slot for us! there were fixed plain shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, and caps to customise on and they offer a variety of patches and prints! there are Hongdae specific prints that you can't find in Myeongdong and vice versa. we spent a good 1hr there deciding how we want to design our very own apparel (pretty sure we'll be chased out if the queue was long) the designs and apparel sizes/colour available can be checked online prior to heading down so you won't be disappointed !

after we sent our nike fit in for the printing, we went to KT&G Sangsang Madang, which is a building full of stationaries by many different artists/companies! they have stickers, postcards, fragrances, soap, and even ceramics! if you're already in the area, just pop by and take a look, there's something for everyone and can make great souvenirs. right opposite the building is a 2-storey Olive Young, so what's there to hesitate!

after the brain juice used for customisation, we walked over for lunch at Solsot (Yeonnam outlet) at 2pm to avoid the lunch crowd. although it was a weekday and post-lunch timing, we still had to wait for abt 30min as the shop is actually quite small. it's required to order when you get a queue number and the food is served pretty fast once you're seated. food is very similar to claypot rice in SG but instead of eating the crispy burnt rice straightaway, they will provide a broth to make something like a paofan! yarmi food which is actually very filling!

what's Hongdae without shopping ? or in our case, window shopping cause we aren't that big on shopping actually. will defo recommend going to this gentle monster store if you are planning to get their glasses as they generally have all the stocks and you can also view their 'exhibit'! we also popped by at other recommendations like what it isn't, granhand, offline duty-free, line shop and more

you'll definitely pass by Hongdae Festival Street, which is the main street in Hongdae known for the colourful floors, multiple buskers, and also the tiktok famous noraebang dancer ! there are many small clothing/accessories stalls and also photo studios to choose from, and it's populated by tanghulu which is the current trend in Korea maybe? try to catch the various buskers which will usually be there in late afternoon and evening period! there's this particular busker that performs skits and will invite audiences to join as well; so if you're not shy, volunteer to be part of his skit for a memorable experience !

finally, it's time for dinner again and we headed to Piggybank Stone grill (Sujeong Okdol Salt Grill) the meat were very reasonably priced and it is cooked directly on stones that were heated by the workers outside of the store! will recommend if you want a quick kbbq fix at an affordable price as the selection of meat was not a lot!

after dinner, we headed back to the Nike store to collect our customised apparels (it was actually completed quite fast but we just didn't want to carry it ard) and that's the end of day3 as we wanted to rest well for day4
