This is no ordinary chicken pot pie

One of the local spots you’ll often find me at is The Ordinarie which is located in Downtown Long Beach, California. It’s a restaurant wand bar that has inspiration from the taverns of 18th century America which were called ordinaries (fun fact, it’s not ordin-air, it’s pronounced like the word ordinary).

My attraction to this place is the quality comfort food. The mac n cheese, fries, and wings all hit the spot. My go-to, however, are the Chicken Pot Pie Bites. These little empanada-like hand pies are stuffed with chicken, peas, and carrots, deep-fried, and then set into a shallow pool of gravy. They’re crispy, savory, and rich—an overall delight.
