creating a functional but aesthetic coffee table

I have a passion for lounging on the couch — but I’m also OCD and cannot stand to just have random things lying around on my coffee table. Here are some tips and tricks I use to keep your coffee table functional… but still a vibe 😊

- adding a storage box or woven container like the one here is probably my number one recommendation. There is nothing aesthetic about having remotes and hair ties and Chapstick laying on your coffee table, but the reality of life is that you need those things there, so you might as well put them in something that fits the vibe. I love having a small little box like this one, or stackable boxes, or sometimes even a nice tray.

- While I do love to create a beautiful living room, I try to only use things that I will touch on a daily basis. For example, the candle I have on my coffee table is one that I actually light and use, it is not just there for show.

- I think that coasters, especially these beautiful marble coasters, fit the bill for functional and aesthetic. I know a lot of people really want guests to use coasters, but do not know how to encourage it. I find that having coasters, like these marble ones, in direct view is a great way to encourage people to use coasters, but also, I think the marble looks really nice.
