Before getting pregnant, I always thought and said to my self “ I WANT A NATURAL BIRTH”. I didn’t make it past 6cm without screaming and begging for an epidural 🤣

Of course every women is different in what they chose for labor, how it works with their body. Let’s talk about all things EPIDURALS:

An Epidural is a numbing medicine given by injection in a specific place in the back. Its numbs and causes a loss of feeling in the lower half of your body!

This helps lessen the pain of contractions during childbirth. Used by an estimated 70-75% of women this is the most common and effective type of anesthetic for pain relief during labor.

An epidural is a numbing medicine that is administered inserting a needle and a catheter into the lower part of a women’s back! The needle is REMOVED but the catheter stays to deliver pain medicine as needed throughout the entire labor.

What the epidural does is that it creates numbness from the belly button to the top of the legs. This allows women to stay awake, you will feel pressure during labor but without the pain!

When getting the epidural, it honestly feels like a little pinch, after that you shouldn’t feel a thing! Only hard part is you have to stay completely still EVEN IF YOUR HAVING A CONTRACTION
