Guide to Vatican City - Smallest Country?? 🇻🇦

At less than 0.5 square km, Vatican City is the smallest country in the world! If you’re looking to visit the Vatican, it’s easy to include on your trip to Rome (literally just a walk away!). So without further ado, here are things to know before visiting Vatican City!

🚶‍♂️How to get there

Vatican City is located in the heart of Rome and is easily accessed by either foot, metro, or bus. I took a 35-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain to St. Peter’s Square, which was also a good way to explore the city along the walk there!

2. Vatican Museum (ticket required)

3. Saint Peter’s Basilica

4. Sistine Chapel

⏳ How long to spend there

I would recommend setting a half day tour for your visit to the Vatican if you’re going to be touring the museums.

💡What to prepare

Do take note there is a strictly enforced dress code when you enter St Peter’s Basilica and Vatican Museum! You should avoid wearing revealing clothes with bare shoulders, and your bottoms should be below knee length. Consider bringing a scarf or sweater to drape over your shoulders so you don’t risk being denied entry~

Also, you won’t need to bring your passport even though it is a country :)
