Hi loves! I had some people ask for recommendations for Italy and as much as I would love to share more I felt like I didn’t have a benchmark for what was worth it since it was also my first time in Italy 🥹

BUT I actually really really enjoyed some of the guided tours of Italy’s main attractions so here’s a small review on the ones I went on!

✨Why I would recommend guided tours✨

• You get to learn a lot about the place from an expert who knows the place inside out

• All guides speak into a mike and you get your own mini audio player to listen from!

• Much more engaging than walking around the place on your own or even listening to a recorded audio tour

• You’re sure to hit all the must see attractions

• Truly truly recommend guided tours for some of the attractions that are harder to get to on your own!

Rome

🤍 Vatican City + Sistine Chapel + St Peter’s Basilica

• The guided tour that I enjoyed the most!!

• SO much art history, it was super insightful and the guide was really friendly and engaging

• Extremely interesting also because Vatican City is the smallest country in the world! You can send yourself a postcard from Vatican City (so you get a Vatican City stamp!)

• MUST GO!!!

🤍 Pompei + Positano

• Highly recommend a tour for this because they are quite a distance away from Rome! Booking a tour with added transport was very convenient

• The Pompeii guided tour was super interesting too and it was interesting hearing about recent discoveries made since they are currently still digging through the mountains of ash that covered the city

• My guide was archaeologist who literally discovered 80 slices of bread that remained intact under the ashes

• Positano is BEAUTIFUL but the ride there was not my cup of tea… too many twists and turns since it’s a cliffside village

• Has super cute shops! However we only got about 2-2.5h there including time for lunch so we didn’t get to explore much which was a pity

Florence

🤍 Academia & Uffizi Gallery

• Recommend booking tours to skip the LONG queues to enter (otherwise highly recommend to at least book your tickets in advance because they WILL sell out!!) We went with a guided tour and still had to queue (in a separate group/priority queue) because there were so many people, but it was much faster

• Academia houses the Status of David by Michelangelo (the main attraction in the whole gallery really)

• Uffizi is mostly of paintings but has a room dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci and another to Michelangelo

• The guided tour ended in Uffizi so we could roam around on our own after but we didn’t because there were too many people and this tour was literally a 4h crash course on art history (which was nice but my brain and legs couldn’t anymore)

Hope this was helpful! Definitely a good option to sign up for guided day tours so you get a good mix of free and easy time & a fruitful experience at these amazing attractions :)
