Are you planning a trip to Rome? Here are 4 things you should know before you go:

👞Dress Code: Rome is a city with a rich history and culture, and it's important to dress respectfully in some places. This means no shorts, tank tops, or revealing clothing when visiting churches and other religious sites. Instead, opt for clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Apart from religious sites, no one really cares tho

🚌Transportation: Rome has an extensive public transportation system, including buses, trams, and a metro. The city also has many pedestrian-only areas, so be prepared to do a lot of walking- and by a lot I mean A LOT. You can purchase a Roma Pass to save money on transportation and admission to popular tourist attractions.

🧷Safety: Like any major city, Rome has its share of pickpocketing and other petty crimes. Be aware of your surroundings and keep your belongings close to you, especially around tourist attractions. I don’t generally find it to be a dangerous city but it’s still good to be vigilant.

💸 Tipping: In Italy, tipping is not as common as it is in places like the US. However, it's still customary to leave a small tip of around 10% for exceptional service. Keep in mind that many restaurants include a "coperto" or cover charge, which is a fee for bread and table service, so you don’t HAVE to tip.
