DIY Match Holder With Striker

I love having candles around my home, especially taper candles, and there’s something about lighting them with matches instead of a lighter that just makes it feel cozy.

I thrifted a really pretty vintage glass dish with a lid, so I thought it would be perfect to turn it into a match holder with a striker on the bottom. I purchased some self adhesive match striker paper and stuck it to the bottom of the dish. If your container isn’t clear, you could also stick the paper underneath the lid.

Then I added matches to the dish and voila! Anytime I need to light a match I just grab one from the dish and turn it upside down to light it.

It’s so much prettier than a regular box of matches and it’s a unique piece that’s fun to tell people about. Next time you see a cute dish when you’re thrifting, bring it home and try this one out!
