DIY Polymer Clay Match Holder

I’ve been obsessed with making unique little dishes to hold matches lately, and I couldn’t resist trying out an idea I had to make a dish using polymer clay.

I started by separating a block of clay into a few sections, then I rolled it out into a long snake shape. I cut off the ends, then twisted two pieces of clay together. I formed a circle and pressed the ends together.

I repeated this whole process and stacked two of these twisted circles together. Then I rolled out one extra piece and stuck it to the bottom.

I baked it at 275 degrees F for 15 minutes, and once it was cool I added self adhesive match striker paper to the bottom.

I added matches to the dish and voila! I styled it in my entryway because I like to keep a seasonal candle there year round. It’s so cute and different and makes a great gift too!
