Grief is a complex and personal experience that often involves several stages, which can occur in any order. The stages of grief include denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

Denial is a stage where individuals may struggle to accept the reality of their loss, often feeling numb or in shock. For example, a person might continue to act as if nothing has changed, avoiding the truth of their loved one's absence. Anger can manifest as frustration or rage, sometimes directed at others or oneself, questioning why the loss happened. Bargaining involves attempts to regain control or make deals, often with a higher power, in hopes of reversing or lessening the loss; for instance, promising to change behavior if only the person could be brought back.

Depression is marked by deep sadness and withdrawal, where individuals may feel overwhelmed by the weight of their loss, experiencing a profound sense of emptiness. Finally, acceptance is when a person begins to come to terms with the loss, finding ways to move forward while still honoring their loved one's memory.

It's important to note that these stages are not linear and individuals may move back and forth between them or experience them in a different order.
