Why I take social media breaks. 📸

📸- Hey guys! For a more in-depth explanation to my reasons…

📸-1. “Not everyone needs to know what’s going on in my life.” This is an important reason because honestly when I’m on social media there’s never not a time when I don’t want to post something on my story. I know it’s a self control thing but I know I don’t have to self control to not post so deleting it for a while is my best option.

📸-2. “I felt like I was on it too much.” I say this because I saw that whenever I opened my phone up, Instagram or TikTok or Snap, was the first place I went to, this was so unhealthy for me and when I saw my screen time I honestly felt bad for myself spending 4+ hrs on a sing me social media app a day.

📸-3. “It hurts a lot more than it helps.” Social media is such a big influence people nowadays. I too am heavily influenced by social media and what people have to say about everything. It’s also so hard to scroll through Instagram or TikTok without seeing someone who you would want to look like, and then feeling like you have to change yourself to look like what people want to see.

📸-4. “It’s not important.” It really isn’t. When deleting Instagram and redownloading it a month later I really saw that there wasn’t much waiting for me, yea sure I got a couple dm’s but do I really care?

📸- I really could go onnn but, I won’t. So if my reasons convinced anyone to take social media breaks here’s how to start. Start with deleting one social media app every other month, this is what I do, and I chose Instagram.
