Impulsive purchases are usually due to your body craving a dopamine high because your body will release this pleasure neurotransmitter when you make a purchase.

But your body can get this same effect if you find a different way for your brain to release dopamine. Here’s a few options:

- Go on a walk.

- Read a book.

- Bake a treat.

- Listen to music.

After you do one of these activities, or a different one that brings you happiness, you shouldn’t still crave making that purchase. But if you do, try waiting 48 hours before committing to buying it.
