Nestled along the serene Jalan Jurong Kechil Road, near BeautyWorld station, lies Ajiya, a culinary haven for Japanese food enthusiasts. While not a new establishment, Ajiya boasts an array of delectable dishes, with its star attraction being the customizable Okonomiyaki experience.

Upon entering Ajiya, patrons are greeted with a unique dining concept where they can handpick their preferred ingredients for their Okonomiyaki creation. For my visit, I opted for succulent duck, savory crab meat, and perfectly grilled onions to complement the hearty cabbage base. The interactive element adds a touch of excitement as diners can choose to grill their Okonomiyaki themselves or entrust the skilled chefs at Ajiya to craft it to perfection.

The cooking process unfolds seamlessly on the hot grill right in front of your seat, allowing you to witness the transformation of simple ingredients into a flavorful masterpiece. Awaiting patiently for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, the Okonomiyaki is then expertly flipped and adorned with traditional Japanese condiments like Okonomiyaki sauce, creamy Japanese mayonnaise, and delicate bonito flakes, culminating in a symphony of flavors and textures.

Ajiya's culinary offerings extend beyond Okonomiyaki, with a diverse menu featuring tantalizing options such as potato slices drizzled with indulgent Mentaiko sauce and aromatic garlic fried rice topped with crispy garlic chips. I also had the pleasure of savoring their Yakisoba on a previous visit, which left a lasting impression with its delightful flavors.
