the BEST MALA now at KINEX? 🔥🥵

I’ve been wanting to try A Hot Hideout since forever but I’m an Eastie and their other outlets are sooo far away 🥹 Great news for Easties because they just opened their newest outlet at KINEX!

Went there on a Monday at around 6pm, and only waited around 5-10min for our turn! I left at around 6.45pm and saw a snaking queue, so I’d definitely recommend to come on weekdays before 6pm!

👍🏼 The mala xiang guo (dry version) satisfied my taste buds! Flavourful and not too salty. Numbness and spiciness were just perfect too

👍🏼The scrambled egg was a unique addition and it was pretty creamy but…quite little for $1 so I don’t think its a must-have haha

👍🏼 Mala tang was great, but the soup base lacked a bit of flavour (compared to Zhang Liang/Gong Yuan Mala Tang, in my opinion!)

👍🏼 You have the option of deep frying your fish/luncheon meat/potato/lotus root, or just cooking them together in your mala. I’d recommend to fry them because then you have more options instead of just mala! Like mala with some sides haha

💵 $15-$30 per pax (they calculate by weight and the fried ingredients like potato, lotus root are heavy so just take note if you’re on a budget! We ordered a little too much and our total bill was $60 oops)

💭 I LOVE mala and am always left disappointed when the place doesn’t meet my expectations, but I really liked A Hot Hideout!! I prefer the dry version to the soup ☺️ But both are good! I will be back soon for sure!
