hellooo thought iād share a lil more about my dance journey as a newbie (1.5 years!), how iāve grown and found new opportunities for myself to grow, as well as how i intend to pursue it in the future!!
1ļøā£starting off in Bizrag as a freshie!!
fresh into uni, i joined bizrag with no prior experience just to make new friends and try something new!! But instead i found a few close friends who were passionate about dance and (thankfully!) introduced me to this world of amazing adventures~ super thankful for this support system that allowed me to try something new with no judgement and for their constant encouragement
2ļøā£joining dance club in temasek hall!
this has been a decision iāve never regretted ā a super supportive group of seniors who selflessly share knowledge and skills and who drill me to push myself always even when i was not the most confident in the beginning:ā) iām super thankful for the countless production opportunities iāve found here; havint a stage is a privilege i will never stop being grateful forš also, iām so grateful to have grown and been able to give back to this loving community through my own choreographies for events and productions! every moment in the studio is a moment cherished, and every moment on stage with my insanely passionate and talented peers has really been ethereal~
3ļøā£finding opportunities through training at studios!
i started training seriously at new heights studio at first, (though now i train everywhere) as it was a really welcoming space for beginners like me! special shoutout to yuka, a CRAZY talented instructor iāve followed from the start, for endless trainings in her crew as well as getting insane opportunities like being in Troye Sivanās music video! really felt like this was a turning point where i started to really want to work for more opportunities ans prove myself moreš«”
4ļøā£ sessioning and self-pracing!!
this is probably the thing i enjoy most about dance ā using it as a form of exploring my own body, the beats and grooves and nuances of every piece of music, and discovering my oen dance style as i grow in dance; it is really both a very humbling and cathartic experience! theres still so much for me to work on but iām excited to learn and train hard this summer and hopefully also under talented international instructors in the UKš„³š„³
