Every time I stock up on pads I think of how men don’t have to spend all these extra dollars, and it’s almost like we’re being punished for … being women🥲.
I decided to try menstrual cups because in theory, there seemed to be a lot more benefits to using them vs sanitary pads.
✨ If taken good care of it can last 10-15 years (crazy ikr)
✨ Inexpensive (one-time purchase)
✨ Able to take part in water sports while on period

I think Freedom Cups is a good choice if you’re wondering which brand to get: they give a cup to a woman in an underprivileged community for every cup purchased directly from them. They also have 2 sizes: a 25ml one for those with light-regular periods, and a 35ml one for those with heavier flows! You can read more on their website here

It wasn’t as daunting as I initially thought it was, but it does take practice to be able to use it properly. My arms got quite tired trying to insert it haha. While I didn’t manage to use it successfully this cycle, the cup definitely got easier to handle each time I tried.
Was kinda disappointed at first but many people told me it took them a few cycles of trying before they got it right, and that it was ✨ life changing ✨. (You can exercise and even swim with the cup on without any fear of leaking + it’s sustainable! 🌱)

If you're willing to have the patience to try and try again, I say yes! I'll keep trying :’)
