6 Free Things to do in Los Angeles

𝟭. 𝗛𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆

A moderate hike with slight incline, but highly recommended taking this hike (Fern Dell Trail) up to the Griffith Observatory. You’ll have a stunning, unblocked view of the city!

𝟮. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘆𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻

The Hollywood sign is visible from many parts of the city, so you’ll have plenty of photo ops. We read that the best place to view the sign is at the Last House on Mulholland - the road there was unfortunately closed due to construction when we visited, but let me know if you manage to go!

𝟯. 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗿

Personally my favourite place in LA. The sunset and vibes were absolutely beautiful. If you go a little earlier, you’ll be able to enjoy the theme park located at the pier. There’s even an outdoor gym for all you gym junkies :-).

𝟰. 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲/𝗕𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀

Although I couldn’t afford anything in this area, it was interesting to walk around to see where some of the most well to do people in LA live and shop. The streets are really pretty too~

𝟱. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘆𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗱

Can’t say you’ve been to LA without visiting Hollywood Boulevard. I wouldn’t recommend spending too much time here though - there’s not much to see except the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Chinese Theatre. Grab some souvenirs at La La Land if you want.

𝟲. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁

You’ll get the quintessential LA shot here. The lamps can be found in front of the LACMA without paying an entrance fee. It’s prettier in the evening/at night but we didn’t have time to visit then. Note that parking in the museum is extremely expensive! It’s $18/entry, so try to find street parking somewhere nearby and walk.

I’d recommend renting a car if you’re visiting LA, public transport isn’t the most reliable! It’s not difficult to find street parking either, and the parking rates are quite affordable as well :).
