concert junkie diaries: 9 concerts in 2024?! 💸🎶

hi zesties 🍋!! it’s only august and i’ve already went to 9 concerts 😭🤣 as an avid concert go-er, here are some of my personal opinions on each concert and how much i’ve spent in total!

1. Coldplay- Music of the Spheres

📆 24 January at National Stadium

went with my friends as a group, and the vibes were immaculate 🔥

the highlight was definitely “sky full of stars” and “yellow”, but honestly, all of their other songs were super nostalgic. The pop of colours and the crowd using the power bikes and kinetic dance pads to generate electricity ⚡️ was really interesting!

2. IVE- Show What I Have

📆 24 February at Singapore Indoor Stadium

my second time seeing IVE live! this time they performed more songs because previously it was a fancon. enjoyed the unit shows especially yujin and leeseo who performed ‘Women Like Me’, they killed the stage 🙌🏻 i really liked how they use props especially umbrellas during “Mine”. personally am a wonyoung stan but yujin really stole the show for me this time 😍

3. Taylor Swift- Eras Tour

📆 3rd March at National Stadium

went for day 2 out of 6. worst ticketing war ever but so worth it 🥹 met swifties who kindly traded their friendship bracelets with me & they were all so nice and sweet. loveddd the whole concert and the concept - introducing her song by each era. My favourite album was speak now but she only included two songs from that album in the setlist 🥲(now left one…) My favourite set from the whole concert was “22” which brought back all the nostalgia from my teenage years. so happy that we got “Clean” and “The Story of Us” (one of my fav songs from speak now album) as the surprise songs of the night🤩

4. Baekhyun- Lonsdaleite

📆 28 March at Resorts World Convention Centre

as a fellow exo-l, i was freaking out when he performed Playboy and Diamond 🥹🥹 throughout the show, he not only sang, dance, but also rapped, what an all-rounder 😌 listening to his high notes in “Cry For Love” gave me so much goosebumps.. my favourite song that he performed was “Paranoia”, it was so hyped and the lighting and everything was just 🔥

💰 price: free, VIP, friend’s dad kindly bought for us

5. Bruno Mars- 24k Magic World Tour

📆 3 April at National Stadium

okay tbh we bought the concert tickets literally the day before the concert.. i instigated my friends to join me in the standing pen🤣🤣

we stood towards the back of the standing pen bc we didn’t want to squeeze at the front, it was more enjoyable for us as well since we had quite alot of space. The setlist was solid & vibes were immaculate during “Uptown Funk” and “Locked Out Of Heaven”. It was quite interesting to hear the band perform “Home” & all of us singing out the lyrics together. also, how does bruno has so much energy to dance to such intense songs & constantly hype us up throughout the show?? It was quite a workout bc we were all jumping to the songs 🤣😅

6. IU - H.E.R

📆 20 April at Singapore Indoor Stadium

attended this one w my bf, IU did not disappoint! She specially prepared door gifts for all of us who attended the concert - acrylic keyring, two photocards and a photocard holder. The concert was sooo good and it lasted for 3 hours! I kept having goosebumps whenever she sang, especially during “Love Wins All” and “Above The Time”. Her vocals is really no joke 🫶🏻 not to mention her fanservice as well, she prepared a flower, coin and also specially went down to the concert venue to paste a special note at the back of the seat. She was constantly showing her appreciation for Singaenas throughout the concert and we felt sooo loved 🥰

💰 price: $699 for 2 tickets including htb, cat 1

7. Lay Zhang - Step 10 July at Mega Star Arena KL

i was so lucky to win a giveaway from Warner Music which included round trip tickets to KL, stay at Parkroyal Collection, and a pair of Cat 2 tickets to Lay Zhang’s concert. Lay’s concert was super lit & his performance were explosive. There was one segment which kinda felt like clubbing vibes HAHAHA there was a DJ and he did an EDM medley of few songs which hyped the crowd up and was a fun twist. He is also multi-talented, able to sing, dance, rap and play the piano. It was definitely an unforgettable night and a satisfying experience 👏🏻

8. Kyungsoo - Bloom

📆 8 August at Singapore Indoor Stadium

of course being a fellow exo-l, i have to attend every exo member’s concert even though its a solo con🤣💸

i really like how everyone followed the sky blue dress code 🩵 during the show, kyungsoo’s vocals really shined through & his voice is sooo comforting and beautiful.. we were blessed with him singing “History”, “Don’t Go” and “Peter Pan” 🥹 my exo-l heart ♥️ the emcee, April, also made the experience so much fun and kyungsoo was so happy throughout the show.

9. Soojin - Summer Daze

📆 9 August at Capitol Theatre

first time at Capitol Theatre, the place was pretty small and cozy. I received a message from my friend who had free tickets and were super nice to give it to me. The concert was overall enjoyable & intimate. She started off the show with “Agassy” and the crowd was pretty loud & hyped 😆 There were mini games and quizzes for fans to get her signed albums. It was really cute to see her play the mini games to win prizes for us as well! “Lime” is really addicting and i kept on listening to that song even after the concert hehe.

⭐️ rating: 7/10 👍

well if you add up the total… its around $1647 💸💸 i’m also really grateful for the chances to get free tickets and getting an opportunity to see the artists as well. also can’t wait to attend more concerts in the future~
