did not know this place existed ard my grandma’s house until she said she wanted to come here because it was ‘very bright’

those were the neon lights coming from Kallang Food Centre !! This place looks like a hybrid of a food court and a hawker centre, with the stalls being more decorated with neon lights and there being music being blasted from the speakers. You can find a variety of food here, like thai, korean, jap, chinese (the one we ate) etc etc.

The place is pretty huge with super tall ceilings and many many seats (it was actually pretty crowded when we went, but they definitely still had seats), and was cooling enough with huge fans. Notable stored were the korean lok lok, which had interesting stall deco of it being a truck as the storefront as well as SG umami, Ben Yeo’s newly opened stall that sold fusion jap & local food

They were well known for their Charcoal Fishhead Steamboat Restaurant, so that’s the one we decided to try. It was steamboat with fish being used as the main ingredient. It was SO SO good, the soup is something to be desired for a hangover or during a rainy day. It was flavourful on it’s own, but once you start adding in the raw fish, veggies and other hotpot ingredients, it became super super good. 8/10 recommend !!
