tips to SLAY at your first job! 😼🫵🏼

🚨disclaimer: i am also a newbie 😭😭😭 but here are some things i learnt in my new job so far hehe 🫶🏻

⭐️ ask MANY questions! dont be afraid to ask for clarification if you’re unsure about things! 🤓 its shows that youre eager to learn and helps you do your work properly/correctly! asking questions about your colleagues (during lunch) is also a good way to get to know them better, which brings me to my next point

⭐️ make friends! taking time to get to know your colleagues, can help make working more enjoyable and going to office a little less painful! 🤩👯‍♀️ & in the mean time also take note of the office culture and dynamics! 👀 observe how people interact and adapt to the social norms and expectations of your workplace! (emotional intelligence 📈)

⭐️ stay organized! keep track of your tasks and deadlines using apps like notion or even excel! try to stay on top of your responsibilities while its not too late and see at a glance which tasks are more urgent! 🫨 also, you should keep a record of your accomplishments too as it may be useful for performance reviews or future job searches!

⭐️ be receptive to (negative) feedback! constructive criticism is a valuable part of growth, you should approach feedback with a positive attitude and use it as an opportunity to improve! 😋 especially while youre still new to the company, your colleagues will tend to be more forgiving, so try to learn as much as you can during this time!

⭐️ finally, be patient with yourself! 🥰 adjusting from school life to work life is never easy, be patient with yourself as you try to navigate new responsibilities and deal with challenges along the way! one thing ive learnt is that a full-time job is SO different from an internship. there is no one to hold your hand and spoon-feed you anymore, youre on your own, and that is REALLY REALLY tough 🥹🥹
