Poke bowl is my favorite food. I eat it often at the restaurant, but this is the first time I’m making it at home with simple ingredients thaf you can find at a Japanese supermarket. Here are few steps to make delicious poke bowls.

You can choose the protein you’d like to add to your poke bowl. For me, I prefer salmon and tuna, which is why I pick the type of tuna I like the most for making poke. Then, I like to cut the fish into small bites and marinate it in a mixture of tamari sauce ( similar to soy sauce but less salty), roasted same oil, vinegar( since I didn’t have rice wine vinegar, I used regular vinegar mixed with a bit of rice wine, and it turned out just fine), sugar, and roasted sesame seeds. Let the fish sit while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

Peel and dice the avocado. Cut the cucumber into anyshape you like. Split the cooked rice into two separate bowls and sprinkle furikake to add flavor. Top one side of the bowl with half of the avocado, spring mix, seaweed salad, pickled cucumber, and pickle salad, and add pickle ginger. On the other side of the bowl, place the marinated fishes. Sprinkle roasted seaweed, tobikko( flying fish roe), sesame seeds on top. Then, drizzle mayo over the bowl.
