Birthday Treat: $98 Nett Omakase at Ryo Sushi

For my boyfriend's birthday, I wanted to take him somewhere special, and Ryo Sushi seemed like the perfect choice. We have never tried Omakase before so we are pretty psyched for it. Reservations have to be made in advance and we opted for the $98 nett Omakase, which turned out to be an unforgettable culinary experience.

There are only selected slots in a day and less than 10 seats in each seating to ensure that all diners enjoy the dining experience throughout the 2 hours dinner. As we settled into our seats, we were immediately impressed by the sleek and modern decor of the restaurant. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive.

The Omakase menu consisted of 18 course, including a variety of sushi, sashimi, and soup. We started off with a delicious Hijiki Seaweed Salad and Edamame. Then came the beautifully cooked Olsen Egg, topped with salmon roe.

Next up was the sushi course, which included some standout pieces like Shima Ali, Chutoro with Yuzu zest and Otoro with shouyu foam. My favourite is the Kani handroll- the cold crab meat wrapped with warm sushi rice melts in the mouth instantly! The meal ended with a mini chirashi bowl and soup.

Overall, we felt that the $98 nett Omakase at Ryo Sushi was worth every penny. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in each dish were exceptional. The portion sizes were also generous, so we left feeling satisfied but not too full. We wished that there are some delightful dessert to end the meal on a high note but instead there is soup to cleanse the palette instead.

If you're looking for a special dining experience in Singapore, Ryo Sushi is definitely worth a visit. The Omakase menu offers a great variety of dishes and flavors at an affordable rate making it a great place for a celebration or a romantic dinner.
