Margaret river - nature attractions to visit 🇦🇺

Margaret river is commonly associated with wineries and restaurants, but did you know the nature is just as good?

Here are some of the attractions we visited.

🌊Canal Rocks

Nice rocky beach with fantastic views. There were many rocks to climb to get a better view. Best spot to view the famous Western Australia sunset 🌅!

🏖️ Castle Bay

Beautiful beach with white sand and clear blue water. We went in summer and it was quite crowded. Great place for a dip to escape from the hot summer sun.

🐠Point Picquet

The view here was breathtaking and the water was crystal clear. We could see the fishes and seaweed beneath our feet! We really enjoyed it as it was less crowded and quieter compared to castle bay.

🪨Sugarloaf Rock

Excellent vantage point to view the surrounding areas and sunset. The rock is also popular for birdwatching and photography.

🐟 Hamelin Bay

This is the place to visit to get up close to stingrays! Their stings are removed and it’s completely safe. Online reviews recommended to visit in the morning, but it doesn’t really matter as long as there are people feeding the rays. Frozen anchovies can be bought from the petrol station as feed.

💎Jewel Cave

One of the few paid attractions (AUD 24/SGD 21) and only full guided tours are available. The cave was grand and the tour guides provided adequate explanations.

🌲Boranup Forest Viewpoint

The area was full of tall and majestic trees. There were many nice areas to stop and go for a hike. Some areas were burnt from the 2021 forest fire and we could still see some of the burnt down trees.
