Our favourite winery during our visit to Perth was Sandalford Wines located in Swan Valley. Both the food and wine pairing were amazing and at an affordable price.

🍽️ AUD 95 for their award winning Estate Culinary Journey set menu which consists of 5 dishes

🍷 AUD 55 for wine pairing (5 glasses)

What we ate:

πŸ™ Abrolhos Island octopus carpaccio, blacked chili tomato muscatel vinegar dressing

The thinly sliced octopus was tender, spicy and smokey. Very yummy and was complemented well by the vinegar dressing.

🦞 Woodfired bay lobster, Aleppo pepper, citrus beurre noisette

The poached lobster was tender and topped with burnt butter sauce and garlic. The citrusy notes of the butter sauce and crunch of the garlic bits elevated the flavours of the dish.

🦘 Kangaroo fillet tonnato, baby tomatoes, caperberries, pickled shallot, pecorino

Kangaroo fillet served with mayonnaise emulsion that was served cold. It was my first time trying kangaroo meat and it tasted like beef but more gamey. It was a unique experience but once is probably enough.

πŸ‘ Dardanup lamb rump, whipped globe artichoke, courgette, baby carrots, mustard caviar jus

Lamb was cooked to medium doneness and was tender to the bite. The sauce was a wine brown sauce with some nutty notes. Absolutely amazing and I didn’t even know I was eating lamb which can be quite gamey and tough if not cooked well.

🍫 Gianduja chocolate mousse, sable, orange gel, dark chocolate gelato, hazelnuts

Dark chocolate mousse with hazelnuts, raisins and orange gel accompanied by a chocolate gelato. A perfect way to end the meal.
