5d4n for just $400 per pax?!

Recently Air Asia had a sale for air tickets to Surabaya at $150 per person! 🛫 Currently, Surabaya air tickets are still affordable ranging from $100-200 on air Asia or scoot.

I visited both Surabaya and Malang which was a 2-3 hour drive away from Surabaya. Malang has a cool climate with temperature ranging at 23-30 degrees (it gets quite chilly at night!). While Surabaya is as hot and humid as Singapore!

When visiting Malang many will choose to go to Mount Bromo; however, during the time I went Mount bromo just had a 2 weeks long forest fire😭, and was closed to tourists for visits hence we visited Mount bromo hillsides instead which the fire had spread to but was luckily put out already! The views there were amazing 🤩 with plauteaus and hills overlooking the distance. The temperature at bromo hillside was 18 degrees as it was quite high up the mountains already! For this trip, we hired a driver who brought us from Surabaya airport to Malang, and the next day to Bromo hillside before returning to Surabaya, this cost around $90 for a 6 person vehicle!

Surabaya is the second largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta! There are plenty of malls to visit including Pakuwon mall, Galaxy mall and Tunjunguan Plaza. We stayed at four point hotel by Sheraton which was directly above Tunjunguan Plaza for just $85 a night (2 ppl room). The staff was so friendly and gave us a free upgrade to a double bed room (x2 Queen sized beds)🥹. At Tunjunguan plaza there are plenty of shops and even an arcade (more like Genting indoors honestly😱) they had Vikings and swings! We played so many different rides and it only cost $15!!

Surabaya also had plenty of cafes with drinks costing ~$5 and meals of ~$8 😍😍.

For cuisines I highly highly reccomend trying Rawon which is a black soup made of boiled beef and spices- OMG it’s so good and I’m still dreaming of it 🤤🤤

Overall Surabaya and Malang has the best of both worlds with all the nature sceneries in Malang and the hustle and bustle of city life in Surabaya🥰 I would highly reccomend visiting these gems if you are craving for a weekend trip🛫😱
