go on a perfect GETAWAY w/o crossing borders 😆

wondering where you should go for a lil weekend getaway without leaving the country? may i suggest... a 3D2N #staycation at downtown east 👀 it might not sound attractive as opposed to crossing borders to malaysia or flying off to japan or korea like everyone else. nevertheless, there's still lots of activities you can do and have fun with your family and/ or friends! 🥳

— ACCOMMODATION 🏡

for starters, my family and i chose to stay at d'resort's beach cove! among all the 8 types available, we felt that the beach suite met the majorit of our needs, especially since we wanted to use this opportunity to gather our relatives for a bbq session! furthermore, we also purposefully chose rooms at ground level with a connecting door between 2 rooms and direct access to the outdoor area with the bbq pits! while it costs extra to book a bbq pit, we spent about $1K+ for 2 rooms, which we find it pretty #WorthIt !

— ACTIVITIES

1️⃣ rent a bicycle and explore pasir ris park 🚴🏻‍♀️

did you know that pasir ris park is just behind the d'resort accommodation? well, this is your sign to get in touch with nature and explore the park! it might be a hassle to bring along your bicycle or scooters for this so d'resort has its own shop, allowing residents to rent a bicycle or a pair of skates and it's located just below the main front desk floor! 😎

📌ps: do take note that the rates varies from weekdays to weekends as well as the bicycle model chosen + 2nd free hours are ONLY available on weekdays from 9am to 6pm!

2️⃣ beat the heat at wild wild wet FOR FREE🏖️

did you know that d'resort guests are entitled to exclusive entry to wild wild wet? personally i didn't and i was so thrilled to find that out, especially since my last visit was when it haven't undergone renovation! home to 14 attractions that's perfect for all ages, this is an activity you don't want to miss out !! ESPECIALLY since it's free 🤩 though i gotta warn you that the queues for the water rides can get pretty long so do take that into consideration as you navigate through the water park!

3️⃣ enjoy the night sky while grilling bbq food 🍢

what's a staycation without a bbq session am i right? 😼 as mentioned earlier, my family wanted to take this opportunity to also gather our relatives and have a belated christmas evening together! though there were extra charges in renting the bbq pits as well as the amount of time taken to prepare the food, it was definitely worth it seeing the smiles and laughters on everyone's faces and i can't wait to see them again soon during cny!

4️⃣ sing your hearts out at have fun karaoke 🎤

of course, not forgetting my all-time favourite activity😌 if you're a #karaoke enthusiast like me, you'll be thrilled to find out that this outlet has dozens of promotions including the 1-for-1 promotion i've opted for with my family! the song selection is also quite diverse, particularly in terms of english and mandopop songs!

📌ps: the food and drinks can be quite expensive so i'd recommend bringing your own water to keep yourselves hydrated + the outlet does not allow outside food & drinks

— FINAL THOUGHTS 🪅

while there are many more activities to explore in downtown east, i'm grateful for the opportunity to be with my family and enjoy all of these simple activities together! especially since we gathered during the christmas season, a change in environment and scenery truly brings out the lovely family spirit! if given the chance, i would definitely do this again with my friends and possibly try out other activities in and around downtown east!
