Weekends ideas in Singapore

A 2 hour ferry ride from Singapore, I can’t find a place more surreal than the Residences Bintan.

We took a ferry ride from Tanah Merah ferry terminal at 1015am. I would suggest you to go at least 60 mins ahead of time to clear the customs and go the necessary check in. The ferry vendor was Sindo Ferry and we thought the boat was small but thankfully the ride was smooth and safe.

By 12pm, we arrived at the Tanjung Pinang terminal. I initially wanted another terminal but I read online that this is slightly nearer to the resort. anyway the resort is really really out of the way with no 7-11 convenience stores, so a pro tip is to buy some snacks/ cup noodles/ tidbits and pack into your luggages. No grabfood can reach this place as well.

We were greeted warmly by our driver who gave us cold towel, water and also a super delicious cookie ;) we were early but we waited almost 1 hour for another couple. By the time we reach the resort, it was almost 2pm.

Check in was at 3pm. we were served with a lemongrass welcome drink as we waited. The staff also gave us a briefing of the resort.

📍Restaurants: there are only 4 places to eat at - Rica Rica Specialty Indonesian, the pool bar, Rimbun Grill and the dining room room. The variety is quite limited within the resort but the food is tasty. There are live band on some of the days ❤️

📍 Massage: it’s quite pricey hence we didn’t got for it

📍Activities: There are free bicycles at each villa and you can join complimentary activities such as sambal making and coffee tasting on certain days. there is also a small farm on the compound where u can visit at fixed timing. We didn’t go because there are only a few animals and pretty small.

The resort has water sports available. We did the complimentary kayaking n stand up paddle board. You can also pay for jet ski or arrange Scuba diving!

We also enjoyed complimentary yoga in the morning at 830am

There is also an indoor game rooms with some board games available.

💭Thoughts: It’s a luxurious getaway. I think all in all, I spend $450 on the hotel and for food we spent a total of $250. Do take note we stuffed ourselves during breakfast and eat lesser for lunch/dinner.

🤔Would go again? Definitely Yes! If you have no time to recharge or go overseas with your partner , go to the Bintan residences :) don’t really need to plan anything. Just relax in the villa, swim and eat!
