TTR/TEM: why these bags are not for me 🙅🏻‍♀️

Am I the only one who thinks the poofy trend is overdone?? 😬 #deinfluencing

Was in town last weekend and chanced upon new bags launched by The Tinsel Rack and The Editor’s Market. The two bags are surprisingly kind of similar in certain ways and I would categorise them under “poofy bags”. This trend started last year and I’m surprised it’s still going on lol… so many other fashion brands have already done their spin on the poofy trend - TPB, BTV, TCL, YHF, Lovet… need I go on?

If you’re thinking about getting the TTR/TEM bag here’s my #firstimpression -

✨Brand: The Tinsel Rack Bouffi Bag

⭐️⭐️ /⭐⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️:

A very very simple bag imo. It’s poofy to the touch and soft but has very limited capacity (see 3rd pic) so I don’t think it can be used as a daily bag, i couldn’t fit my wallet, phone & umbrella together inside. It also has kind of a weird shape(?) it’s not really a rectangle and there are 2 diagonal slants at the base of the bag that bothers me slightly. The saving grace of the bag is its adjustable strap, removable pouch & price point at $39.90. This bag as a whole doesn’t appeal to me, I would choose the Uniqlo Round Mini Shoulder Bag for $19.90 over the Bouffi.

✨Brand: The Editor’s Market Block Bag

⭐️/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐:

The unique shape of this bag piqued my interest and its nylon fabric is quite soft too. However upon opening the bag and removing its stuffing, I realised that due to the softness of the fabric, it doesn’t hold the rectangular shape and becomes deformed. Not very sure how to describe this deformed shape haha but it’s not very flattering when carried. In order to hold the rectangular shape, you’ll need to pack the bag really fully and be intentional in how you arrange your belongings 😂 I like the 2 zip pockets at the side though it reminds me of the Samo Ondoh bag. The price is also pretty steep at $69, so it’s really #NotForMe

I hope in 2024, we’ll see brands come up with more unique designs and less “hoping onto trends” products. What do you guys think? Is it just me? #UnpopularOpinion
