THIS PLACE IN JAPAN 🇯🇵 IS A BREATHTAKING WONDER!!!

As autumn is approaching, I really want to share one of my favorite place that I had visited in Japan last year.

Unlike the typical cities in Japan that many visit, I was blessed to have a chance to go out and explore the outskirts of Japan. This time we landed in Fukuoka city and began our adventure from there which we then stop by this amazing scenic place!

🗺️ Place:

Takachiho Gorge

📍Location:

Mukoyama, Takachiho, Nishiusuki District, Miyazaki 882-1103, Japan

This place is actually located in Kyushu Japan’s Miyazaki Prefecture.

🚗 How to get there:

To get to this place we took a flight from Singapore to Fukuoka Airport where we then rented a car and drove down to Miyazaki. The ride is about 3 hours long. I am sure there are other ways to get to this gorge such as taking the train or bus but the fastest and most efficient way is to drive.

Because the place is located at a mountainous area, it is best to find a place to stay nearby.

It is known that you can drive down to this place however, it depends on the situation because on the day we decided to visit the Gorge they did not let any cars in due to the carpark being full. Therefore, we had to park nearby and walk down the very steep road to the area (1st pic).

🕑 Opening hours:

8.30am to 5pm

🏞️ Takachiho Gorge:

The Gorge has a 17 meter high Minainotaki waterfall which is so beautiful it almost feels like it came out of a painting.

As I went during autumn 🍂 , the different colours of the trees really enhanced the view, making it more vibrant and colourful.

The river at the Takachiho Gorge flows about a kilometre and leads to the Takachiho Shrine ⛩️

✨ What to do:

💚 The whole place there is filled with green foilage presenting a very calming and zen environment 🌿 to walk around and relax. They also have many different ponds around the area (last pic)!

📷 Given its very beautiful view, you should take as many pictures as you can.

🚸There is a bridge connecting one end of the gorge to the other where you can cross which gives the view on my cover picture which is also the 2nd picture.

🚶You can also walk along the Gorge for a closer view and experience of the Gorge (3rd pic)

🛶You can also rent boats to row down the river and enjoy the view from another perspective! Do note that you have to row the boats yourself!

🛍️🍱There is also an aquarium, a few souvenir shops and restaurants at the area for you to shop and grab a bite!

If you planning a trip to Japan this coming autumn and have considered Kyushu Japan known to many cities – Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Miyazaki and Kagoshima. This is one of the reasons you should go and explore the outskirts!

And till this day I still think about this place a lot 🥹
