I got a cyst removed at National Skin Centre

Hello sharing my experience on getting a cyst removed at the National Skin Centre Singapore 👌🏼

For context: I noticed a cyst forming at the left of my neck awhile back and was a little concerned on what is it 😨😨 because this is not the first one (the first one disappeared magically after 2 weeks) Although this looks like a mosquito bite but i promise it isn't 😂😂

During my usual appointment for my hives at the National Skin Centre, I brought up my concern to the doctor and she let me know it was a cyst. She then measured the cyst and it was around 11mm. She gave me the option to have it removed surgically at the next appointment and send it for biopsy testing which I did 👌🏼

Took some photos of the cyst and was sent to schedule my appointment for the procedure 👌🏼

I was expecting the available procedure date to be months later but the staff kindly let me know there was one slot 2 weeks later and i immediately agreed because she said if I didn't take the slot, the next available appointment will be months later 🤣🤣🤣

To confirm an appointment, they do require a $20 deposit (which will be refunded back to you)

Procedure 🌱

I did not have to prepare anything or fast because it's a minor procedure. The procedure was done under local anaesthesia so I didn't not feel any pain (aside from some pressure). I could feel the doctor digging the cyst out and draining it 🤣🤣🤣 but that's all about it. The procedure was done within 15 minutes 😨

you can go alone because there's no downtime from my experience 🤣

Recovery 🌱

For me there's 4 stitches so it's easy to take care of it. Just had to apply the prescription they gave and change the bandaid 😊 (I even went to Bangkok 3 days after my procedure 💀💀💀)

Stitches Removal 🌱

Idk why i was so scared for the stitches removal because I had stitches removal when i was 12 and it was painful 😨 When I removed mine today, it was painless. The nurse was super gentle and kept updating me "one stitches removed, 3 more", "1 more" 🥺🥺🥺

After removing my stitches, the doctor also let me know my lab results and it was just a epidermal cyst (phew)

Cost 💰

Attached the receipt in this post and after government subsidy is $141.79 (claimable by Medisave). You can check with your insurance provider and see if it is claimable as well because mine was too! so i didn't have to pay cash 😊

Recovery now 🌱

Was given silicon and micro needle patches to help with the scarring so we shall see :)
