i tried destroying my skin for smoother skin

yes you read that right… i tried destroying / burning my skin so that my skin can be smoother 😮‍💨

with years of build up and a poor routine / lack of skincare knowledge in my younger years, skin tags, milia bumps and oil bumps started forming on my skin. i have been really conscious of the texture of my skin all these years, and my final straw was when i realised how obvious the darker bumps were on my neck

i decided to head to a korean skin management centre to get these bumps removed! during the consultation, i was told that if the bumps were on my neck + my parents have these bumps too, then it might be hereditary for me 🥲

nevertheless, i went ahead with the treatment as i was desperate to feel more confident in my own skin.

treatment name: plasma pen treatment / skin tag removal

package price: $600 for 4 sessions (excl. GST)

pain level: 4-6/10

my therapist first numbed my skin on the areas where the removal needed to be done. after 15 mins, she started zapping at my skin tags. for the most part, i felt only a tingling sensation, but for the larger skin tags, i could feel a slight pain that shocked me each time. with each zap, i could smell my skin burning as that’s literally what the treatment was doing. the entire process took about 30mins!

i’m currently on my 7th day, and i’d say the scabs do drop off by themselves over the week. there’re barely any scars for me and my skin is feeling a lot smoother on the treated areas!

overall, this isn’t a necessary procedure, but it was worth it for me to get rid of years of discomfort with my skin ✨

p.s. i also realised i’m allergic to numbing cream, my skin literally wa swollen, red and itchy 🙃 so please take caution before considering this treatment!
