i was in europe for 14 days, and i spent 3 days in germany, munich - these are the places i visited!
🇩🇪 day1 morning - afternoon
dachau concentration camp
- accessible via train & bus, do a quick google search and you'll find many guides on how to go there
- admission is free, but audio guide is ~4€ / pax (optional)
- an eye opening experience of the living conditions and sufferings of the Jews during the WW2
🇩🇪 day1 afternoon - night
marienplatz (old town hall)
- very accessible
- fell in love with the architecture 😍
- a perfect place to take a walk but don't go alone at night if you're a female! there can be many drunks around as bars are everywhere — be careful
- go to hofbräuhaus for authentic germany dining experience! (psst they have a live band and their food be bussin')
🇩🇪 day2 morning - afternoon
füssen / neuschwanstein castle
- a MUST GO
- came across a beautiful church in füssen oh gosh it was extraordinary 😍
- take a bus from füssen to the castle (its on the way)
- DID YOU KNOW that the neuschwanstein castle inspired the sleeping beauty's castle?!
- rich in history - read up before visiting the castle!
- such a beautiful journey + a good escape from the city
- immerse yourself in nature 🤌
(we went back to old town hall in the same evening)
🇩🇪 day3 morning - afternoon
berchtesgaden / lake königssee
- the mist picturesque place in germany imo
- such a quaint and quiet town, with amazing scenery ugh I LOVE.
- we left our luggages at a nearby hotel for a small fee and took a bus from berchtesgaden station to lake königssee — buses come in 1h intervals so do your research before visiting!
- took a river cruise along the lake and i can only say that i had eye-gasm every minute every second. pictures truly don't do it justice!! go see it for yourself and you'll know what i mean
we left berchtesgaden late afternoon/evening to salzburg (only a 40min bus ride)!
overall, germany is very accessible with public transport so there's no need to rent a car or anything; just have to plan your route and match the train/bus timings (do your research!)
DB app will be your best friend!
my review of germany: 4/5
- food, scenery and architecture were 10/10
- minus 1 because of foggy weather and lack of cleanliness in the city
