Tourist Traps to Avoid: Part 2🚫

The world is beautiful and full of amazing destinations. However, there are definitely attractions or cities that don’t live up to the hype. Here is my series of Tourist Traps to AVOID👇🏽

Part 2:

📍Istanbul, Turkey 🇹🇷 İstanbul

Guys I tried my best to like this city. I very rarely EVER write bad reviews or criticize a destination. However I want it to be clear that Istanbul felt like a tourist trap through and through.

Most popular photo spots you see on Instagram are disingenuous because they are not real moments. The tea and food props are not real. We paid around $15, rushed by the host to take our picture and proceeded with the next person.

I had never experienced a travel moment like this.

The smoking here and air pollution is very bad. Our throats hurt after less than 12 hours after landing.

Smoking is allowed inside restaurants, around children and is not regulated.

This can make your experience exhausting and unpleasant if you are not a smoker.

Lastly, Istanbul does have beautiful sights here and there- however I feel there are so many cities with similar views that offer better experiences.
