How to apply press-ons

I love press on nails and I’m not a professional but these are just some tips to that help me make them look good and last up to a month!👀

1. Before starting anything else, measure each nail to appropriate size for each nail (on both hands!) and make sure to line them up in the order you want to apply! This makes it easier and faster to apply!

2. Cut and file down nails only if they’re long! I find this helps keep my press-ons stay on longer because once they start lifting it won’t hurt or fold your natural nail once they grow out! File the shine off your nail for better adhesion. This is what nail techs do to before applying anything else! Be careful and don’t overdo it or it could leave your nails weak and tender! Remember just buff off the shine! I also like pushing back my cuticles just a little just to make them look a little more professional but this is optional.

3. Wipe nails with an alcohol wipe to remove any oils off your nails! This also helps with adhesion! If you touch anything before adhering a nail be sure to wipe again to remove any dirt!

4. I like putting glue on the press-ons AND the tip of my natural nail just in case I didn’t put enough on the press-on. Don’t put glue on all of press ons at the same time because the glue will dry before you put them on! Glue and adhere them one by one!

5. I like to hold the nail down firmly for AT LEAST 10 seconds! Sometimes glue will get pushed out, if this happens just wipe the excess off with the alcohol wipe, but don’t get any on the nail because it’ll leave the nail textured!

6. Some nails have a little notch on the tips of the nails so I like to file them down because sometimes they’re sharp! Plus it looks more professionally done!
