This demonstrates I'm not just looking for a 9-to-5; you want to dive into the exciting challenges and contribute right away. Plus, you really don’t want to deal with a job that’s your kind of boring, so remember to sus it out! I want to know there's room for joy!

2. "Is this role meant to replace an existing staff?

This question shows you’re eager to understand the expectations and excel from day one, especially if the standard is already ‘there’.

3. What was the reason for their departure?

A tough one to tackle but you definitely want to hear the reasoning from the hiring manager to understand why the person left the job. Whether it’s a new opportunity or not, you want to make sure you cover all your bases before joining this new team.

4. How can I ensure that I don’t just fill their shoes, but do better?

You wanna make sure you don’t just ‘replace’ someone, but to bring a different set of skills that value adds to the team!
