Literally their mother..

I always thought negatively about cats. I couldn’t have one growing up and I was told by my family they were “bad” pets. I was under the impression that cats were unloving & wouldn’t be affectionate.

Being an animal lover I knew certain animals are more likely to carry more loyal traits than others. But that didn’t stop me..

As soon as I moved out of my families house I went and got my sweet tabby baby, Tarot.

We adopted a 2 month old kitten from the shelter and I immediately fell in love with him.. Tarot was what I like to call a “titty kitty.” Meaning he would just lay on my chest and sleep, so contently. This sweetness immediately changed my preconceived notion’s about cats. When he got around five months old, he started acting out.. he would bite us, and play super rough, having had many dogs before I knew this bad behavior just needed to be redirected into something positive. I started throwing cat toys across the room, causing his interest to turn to the toys. Tarot began playing fetch with me, and I was absolutely stunned cats could play fetch.

My baby girl, Venus, we got from a friend whose cat had just had kittens. Venus was given to us covered head to toe in fleas & had really crusty eyes. I gave her a quick bath before driving her home. It was late October and really cold, my poor baby began shivering, so I scooped her up and put her in my jacket. She slept on my chest the entire ride home. Venus was really docile since the moment we got her, she’s a little derpy but so sweet. Venus is a very particular cat however, she only likes toys that make a crinkle sound and she doesn’t like being petted on the top of her head. (Chin scratches only)

Both of my babies are super snuggly and are always down for a cuddle. I love my fur babies.

Moral of the story is don’t listen to people that tell you cats are bad pets.
