Thinking to get a double eyelid procedure?

Sharing my double eyelid procedure that I did in sg!

I was born with inner double eyelids and puffy eyelids, making me look sleepy! Second photo was my natural eyelids.

Growing up I used to wear double eyelid tapes, glue etc! Due to the long use of double eyelid tapes, I started having dry cracking eyelids and I had to stop using them for a period of time!

Third photo is when im using double eyelid tape. But even with tape it just made my eyes more awake. In photos you still can’t really tell that I have double eyelids.

I have been thinking to get a double eyelid procedure but was always afraid because im damnnnnn scared of needles. Decided to have it done after seeing my friend having hers done in sg!

Fourth picture was my eyelids one day after the procedure! It is very swollen and you definitely need a sunglass when heading out.

My double eyelids were still quite prominent even after one month (5th picture). I think my swelling only fully subsided after 2 months.

1st and last picture is my double eyelids now after one year plus! The double eyelids have became really natural but tbh if you ask me, I like it when it was much more parallel and thick!

What procedure I did and the process?

I did the sewing method and with general anesthesia. As I cannot handle being awake and having injections directly on my eyelids 😖

I think the doc was done in less than 30 mins and the nurse woke me up afterwards.

Was it painful?

Because I did the general anesthesia method, there was practically 0 pain. I even requested to have numbing cream for the place that they were going to inject the anesthesia for me to sleep LOL that is how afraid I am of feeling needle. Even the healing was not painful, just swollen and my eyelids can’t look up for a month or so.

Where did I have my procedure done and cost?

I did my double eyelid procedure at Shen’s clinic! Everything added up to about $4k ish. If you get local anesthesia I think it is about $300-400 cheaper!

Some things to note if you are getting the sewing method:

1. I am not sure if it is because of sewing that’s was you can see that my eyelids have many lines beneath my sewn line! (Last pic) The nurse told me that if you go too high, this will happen. But I am ok with it as some natural double eyelids have this issue too. So if you mind then you might have to do the incision method.

2. If you like really thick and deep prominent double eyelids then i feel suture is pretty hard to achieve and you might want to consider taking incision method.

If you are still unsure, I suggest you consult a few doctors before making a decision! But ofcourse if you don’t mind paying multiple consultation fees.
