My BF is sad that Alkove Bistro took over Ice Edge

Hello everybody!!!! This week, we decided to head over to Alkovr Bistro in Kovan! My bf lives in Serangoon so this area is not unfamiliar to him.

Alkove Bistro was previously Ice Edge, a cafe that my bf LOVES. He claims that their Chocolate Lava Cake is the best in Singapore so trust me that he was super devastated that they closed down 🥹

Anyway….

We went down on a Saturday afternoon around 1.15pm. Even though the place was packed, there was no queue. The place is really nice! Well designed. Honestly, it’s quite tough to pull of yellow but not bad! There were 2 corgis and 1 pug outside!! Super cute!! So if you’re a pet owner, this is the perfect place!

What we ordered:

🍵 Iced Matcha Latte ($7.00)

4.5/5 (sorry, Starbucks’ still #1 )

I’m a Matcha fanatic and I felt that Alkove’s is pretty well done! It’s bitter yet taste authentic. They serve it without sugar so do ask for sugar syrup.

🍝 Squid Ink Pasta ($21.90)

3.5/5

My friend ordered this and I’m not a fan of squid ink pasta in general but it’s not bad!!! Worth the try ;)

🥪 Croque Monsieur ($17.90)

Pretty cheesy and salty because of the ham and bacon but thankfully the toast went well with it. The toast was crispy in the beginning but after a while, it became soggy so eat it ASAP!

🍗 Chicken Cordon Bleu ($22.90)

Upon cutting, we were impressed that the cheese inside really melted! Most places cannot achieve this so hmmm not bad! However, the chicken was really dry but despite that, it taste pretty good. Well marinated and goes well with the cheese and ham

🍀 Spin the Wheel

Not too sure why but we had the chance to spin the wheel! We won 2 desserts and we can claim it by January. Guess we will still return to have their Chocolate Lava Cake HAHAHAHA

All in all, it’s a nice place with great vibes to hang out with your friends! They food they serve are pretty good so I’m personally glad that they are near my bf’s house so that I can head down to do work Heheheh!!!
