noodle star k: authentic korean noodle house 🥢🇰🇷

located in singapore's own k-town in tanjong pagar, noodle star k is a noodle house serving up authentic korean noodles. its menu consists of classics such as naengmyeon, kalguksu and jjajangmyeon alongside a range of dumplings and other iconic korean dishes 🍲

as an avid fan of korean cuisine, i could not be more excited to finally give this place a try!

🍜 bibim naengmyeon ($16.8)

the dish comes in two variations, with noodles of your choice - either arrowhead or potato starch (which i opted for), doused in sesame oil and a generous amount of cold bibim sauce, then topped with cucumber, sesame seeds, snow pear and half a hard boiled egg.

i had always been skeptical of naengmyeon bc of how thin the noodles are, but these noodles had an unexpectedly good and chewy bite! i also enjoyed the subtle acidity of the bibim sauce, which was not surfeiting at all.

having naengmyeob was perfect and so refreshing as my bf and i had just finished a hike under the hot sun.

🍜 jjajangmyeon ($14.8)

i've had my share of good and bad jjajangmyeon in both sg and korea, and i gotta say this was one of, if not the best jjajangmyeon i've had in sg and might even be on par w some i've had in korea!

the black bean sauce used in noodle star k's version was so thick and flavourful with the distinct sweetness of shallots, coating every strand of those qq noodles. my only gripe is that the noodles could have been chewier.

🥟 mixed mandu ($12.8)

and of course we had to try the mandu or the experience was not complete!

the basket of 6 came with a mix of kimchi and regular dumplings, generously stuffed with juicy pork and chives. i instantly fell in love with the kimchi ones which had a spicy kick 🌶️ , although the regular ones were great as well.

if you're craving for good korean food, definitely do not give this place a miss!
