you have to accept that... (makeup edition)

there's so many unrealistic expectations when it comes to makeup. i've seen many individuals who believes the media TOO much! i've been experimenting makeup since i was in primary school, and i also have a loving mother who's a makeup artist.

i'm lowkey sick and tired of seeing consumers buying sh*t they don't need, just because MANY influencers claim a few points about certain products. let's start!

1) EXPENSIVE ≠ GOOD QUALITY

i'm no judge on how someone spends their money, but if you're tight on $$ and still buy expensive products? girl, there's so many brands out there that does the same or maybe even better!

2) SETTING SPRAY HYPE

i'm talking from a perspective as someone who has oily skin. i've used MANY setting sprays, i can name it - one size, charlotte tilbury, urban decay, sephora and many more! they don't make my makeup transferproof AT ALL! no matter what, makeup can't fight my natural oils. makeup doesn't move? i'd say i don't touch my face when i'm out, hence the reason why it stays in place.

3) anything that BLURSSSSSS

texture is normal! i don't have problematic skin AT ALL! if any of you guys see me in real life, my skin's nothing close from being problematic, but texture still shows! especially on my nose and undereyes. sometimes, my forehead as i usually have pimples forming there which is also 1-2 monthly.

these are all my opinion as someone who has oily skin. i've used lightweight moisturisers and sunscreens to help with oil reduction. the problem still stands, just less likely to mess with my makeup throughout the day!

remember, skin prep is KEY to having a good base. i'm no professional when it comes to makeup, i just enjoy doing it as it makes me feel good and sparks my creativity 🩷
