The downsides of staying at home.

I’ve always worked. As soon as I was old enough to get a part time job, I did, and I honestly love working. Of course i haven’t loved every job, but i’ve never not had one except except for the beginning of the pandemic, and now (the last job i had was amazing but it was seasonal.)

A lot of people i’ve expressed this too think i’m kind of crazy because my husband has a job that can provide for us. I don’t technically “need to work” (and i’m very grateful bc even when i am working he takes care of 90% of the costs) but I also like having money of my own. I like the feeling of taking him out to dinner or buying him and my family gifts. Or splurging on a big item and knowing i saved up for it myself. ALSO we don’t have kids yet, so it’s not like my day has a lot to it, i don’t really “need” to stay home either.

I also miss having a reason to go out and get ready. I still do my basic skincare but i haven’t really dressed cute or done my hair and makeup lately. I find it so hard to convince myself to get dressed up for no real reason, while knowing it’s just making more laundry for me to do😭 (and we are currently using a laundromat until we can buy a washer and dryer.💰💰)

I know Blake would never make me feel bad if i asked him for help, but he does a lot for our animals on top of working, and i just have a bunch of free time so it feels like i should just do it ya know? I feel bad that i’m annoyed about being in this position, it’s not like i totally hate it, but i’m struggling to find a routine and to meet new people.

My husband is a lot more introverted than me so he doesn’t mind not going out often, but without seeing people everyday i feel like i need to go out on the weekends at least 😭 But of course, food cost adds up so quickly, so it’s not smart for us when we need things like a washer and dryer.

Although I do love being able to keep the house nice and clean and do whatever whenever, I miss the routine, and not having to really think twice about spending.
