Heyhey Homebodies,

Here's a Reno Timeline reference from our experience. Having an understanding of what to expect in your renovation works will help you decide what are the items that are more urgent to get.

Hence, I created a list (non-exhuastive) that outline what items must be prioritized and ready at which stage of renovation works. Reasons for creating this was because we face issues like we didnt know we should get this now, thus causing delay, wasting time and money to make a last minute trip and etc. I understand that some times such incidents are unavoidable but they could be avoided when we know more about it. Usually people who engaged IDs for reno shouldnt have such problems because they will be inform timely and be clearer on the timeline. For our case, even thou we have IDs, we still have these problems arising so incase your IDs didnt manage to remind you timely/clearly on what items should be expected.

Priority List

1. Floor traps/Bathtub must be ready for intial Tiling/Masonary/Plumbing Works

We had to made a last minute trip to purchase the type of floor traps we wanted.

Our move-in date was delay because we had to wait for a mth for our bathtub.

2. Lighting Works like spotlights/downlights/led strips/tracks must be ready for initial electrical works

if you are doing recessed lightings, you probably need the led al tracks that not all shops provides, rmb to check with your ID if you are getting from your own supplier.

3. Things to be ready when commencing Capentry

- Sanitary fittings like toliet bowls, basins & taps must be ready.

- Big electrical appliances (fridge, washer, dryer, stove & hob, oven, dishwasher must be ready.

- Kitchen Sink & Tap must be ready.

- Do up wifi broadband service or earlier

4. Remaining installation works like hanging light/steigen/Eubiq/Google Nest Doorbell must be ready for electrical work.

5. Water Dispenser Installation

6. Installation of Tvs/mounting of speakers/home theatre system/paintings/automated door seal/digital door lock/curtain tracks/Smart Home system (after moving in for a week)

This is a non exhaustive list as there maybe variances depending on the type of reno works to be done. From my prority list, the last few varies as they can be done earlier or later depending on availability. However, this flow is generally how things should be ready after reflecting on my own reno experience.
