You know when you’re on holiday or living overseas and your western food diet has reached a cap where its like “ i NEED my sg food or anything asian rn bc i’m getting sick western food”???😭😭
Been in aussie for so long and tbvh, I rarely eat western food. My tummy will really crave asian food just after weekend of me eating western (like brunch lol) 🤣 My diet is 90% asian HAHAHA some things just won’t change! I know where to go whenever a certain asian cuisine crave pops up🚨
So here is my all time fav pho shop in melb for when I’m craving a simple hearty hot bowl of pho!🍜 Save this for when you’re here!!
My go to pho here is always the “stir fries up” rare beef aka Pho Tai Lan.
- the broth is clean but super tasty & NO MSG!!!
- portions are huge
- quality always very consistent!!
Now, before you think that its just pho, NO!! The usual pho you normally get are southern-style pho with the bean sprouts, viet mint etc. This pho, on the other hand, is a northern Vietnamese style pho where they only really add spring onions and coriander.
WHAT TO ORDER
- pho of your choice
- youtiao !!!
I recommend you order the pho first and then have a few mouthfuls of soup and noodles without adding anything.
Then, squeeze in 1-2 lemon chunks, spam their garlic vinegar into the soup, mix well and eat!
The flavour profile of the soup totally changes — faint citrus flavors from the lemon juice and slight tangy after taste from the garlic vinegar. Its just very different from the typical pho. Sometimes I find the usual pho soup have this meaty after taste which gives me the ick after awhile 😵💫
Dip the youtiao into the hot soup, let it soak up and eat it as well!! Its just such a warm hearty meal and will leave you feeling 🥰🤰🏻
