S$90 CURLS THAT DON’T FADE 😨

Felt like I really had to give this salon in Da Nang Vietnam a mandatory shoutout!!! The man rlly wasn’t kidding when he confidently nodded his head when I asked him if the curls would last me 6 months. It’s been almost 9 months fam…. n my curls still look like they’re n gna fade anytime soon 😓😓😓 they only seem to get curlier w each haircut trim LOL

I have really naturally straight flat hair so I got back my hair permed for the first time in 2020 but it was not it. So so bad m expensive. But I decided to give it another go at a different salon

Back in end November 2023, I went on a solo trip to Da nang n decided to get my hair permed there! I went to search online n found this place - Beauty Salon Loc. I read that the review were p good n the pricing was reasonable as well - I spent a total of S$130!

I marked this down in my itinerary n got the help my Airbnb concierge staff upon checking in. They only provided their salon number so I needed help from the locals to help me make a reservation bc the stylists don’t speak English 😭 I reached the salon about 2pm on a rainy weekday n the place was relatively packed but not too packed.

PSA the entire interaction w the stylists was carried out using google translate HAHA it was a back n forth typing on translation from Vietnamese > English n English > Vietnamese. Some of them do speak English but at vv basic levels.

But despite the language barrier, the staff were so attentive to my needs n fr did what was best for my hair. I didn’t realise I had rlly dry split ends n they offered to trim my hair for me (I found out aft that they didn’t include it in the total bill)

I showed them a picture of the type of perm I wanted n the total process (including hair treatment w an additional top up of $25? sgd) took 5 hours…. rly rlly long but looking back at it the time spent was so worth the duration of these lasting curls. It got rlly funny at one point where I had 5 people circling around me rolling up my hair into the hair rollers. I also purchased a hair curling cream thing for S$15 from them which I apply on everytime aft I shower.

If you’re ever in Da Nang n intend to do ur hair (esp perming) this is the place to gooooo
